Thankful.
We used to do a Thanksgiving tree when the kids were little. They’d tape a construction paper “leaf” to a “tree” on the wall. Each leaf represented something they were thankful for.
It was precious.
Would the following words make it on your Thanksgiving tree?
Traditions.
Relatives.
Roadtrips.
Or do words like these make you want to tear that Thanksgiving tree off the wall?
If you’re traveling this holiday season, here are a few tips to keep more leaves on your tree…
- Car Bags
*Little kids and roadtrips can bring out the worst in everyone. There are some great ideas online, but our kids have always loved MadLibs, magnet boards, and special snacks. - Backpacks
*Let every family member have their own backpack to carry and keep up with. This is so much easier than lugging around heavy suitcases. - Audiobooks
*The app Libby is great for those with devices. Our kids also love PlayAways which most libraries have. - Spending Money
*Give them a little to spend on all the souvenirs they find. When it’s gone, it’s gone. - Nap
*I mean…What could be better?
