Making Christmas Moments

“When people assess an experience, they tend to forget or ignore its length. Instead, they seem to rate the experience based on 1) the best or worst moment and 2) the ending.”

I read this quote in Chip & Dan Heath’s book “The Power of Moments” years ago.

And it’s especially helpful this time of year.

None of us want the joy of Christmas day to end. To see our kids surrounded with presents yet “nothing to do.”

How can be make our Christmas moments stick?

1-What will be the best moment of the morning? Opening presents? Breakfast? Lunch at a relatives? Decide what it will be and do something extra special surrounding it.

2-How will your Christmas day end? Make that as much of the focus as the morning.

I love thinking through these 2 things when it comes to vacations too. It’s an easy way to ensure the moments you’re making will become lifelong memories!
